2 new things to be able to do before 30

1. Being able to play Pool. I don't need to become amazingly good but I definitely need to improve my current level (wich is, I have to admit, critical).

2. Being able to eat using chopsticks in chinese and japanese restaurants.

I had decided to give up trying but last night, it appeared to me I have to be able to eat Japanese food withut a fork.

Buy A Barge

Run A Half Marathon

I feel like such a cop out not going for the full whack and putting a full marathon down. I'm not convinced that I'm built for that distance and that its not in fact, complete madness. A half marathon seems fairly manageable and more importantly I have friends who I can convince to train with me. If I were doing the full marathon I fear I would be doing it alone.

Bristol half marathon it is then in September.

Build A Fixie

Pre 1900 all bikes had a fixed gear and no free wheel system. The free wheel system is what allows the rider to coast and take a break from pedalling. The pedals on a fixie maintain the momentum of the bike, the rider must resist this momentum in order to slow down or stop.

The modern fixie is generally a 1980s - 1990s road bike conversion. This process involves stripping the frame of all unnecessary parts including gears, brakes, lights and anything else that complicates the bikes pure form.

Aside from minimalist chic, fixies are popular as they lend themselves very well for trick riders. There are trick s and then there are tricks.

So, the plan is to find an old bike on ebay or at the tip to lovingly restore and make beautiful. I will post a picture as soon as I find a suitable frame.

Oh and I may need advice as I have absolutely no idea what I am doing :) adieu!

I found a suitable bicycle for my fixie project, which excites me more than a little. I will pick it up next weekend from Ilkeston, Derbyshire - That's far far away from Bristol where I live.

The frame is an old Raleigh and cost me fifty seven notes on ebay.

My next step is to strip the bike of all unwanted parts, paint and accessories.

Carp Fishing

I found a place near Bristol where we can go carp fishing.

One day of fishing there is 10£ and we can hire a hut for the night if we like (yeahhhh !!) for only 5£.

Choosing A Musical

Seeing a Musical in London is definitely something to do in winter.

I am tempted to go and see the 39 Steps, an adaptation of the famous Hitchcock's thriller or the Phantom of the Opera, a traditional musical.

Now, the first one is far cheaper that the second one... but the second one is probably a best choice if the purpose is to see a proper Westend Show...

What do you reckon?

I discovered this brand trough a campaign where the brand was putting the spotlight on 'Mothers and Daughgters' (this campaign started ten years ago and is still happening - if you wish to do the casting with your mother/daughter for the Fall - Winter 08/09 Collection, fill the form you can find on their website).

I like the clothes of this Parisian brand.One of their pair of jeans and a woolen jumper can make you look chic & effortless.I would love to be able to afford shopping there!

And I'll make sure this will happen before my 30 !
